The Radio Voodoo Show

Radio Voodoo is a modern, hip and unique throwback tribute to the ‘Golden Age of Radio‘ featuring music, interviews, classic songs, comedy and a 20 minute radio serial story that takes place in the fictional town of Palm Valley Colorado. A bit like ‘Prairie Home Companion‘ meets ‘The Shadow‘, Radio Voodoo is a unique blend of unscripted comedy, amazing musical talent and interviews with some of the most interesting people you’ll ever meet. It’s a radio show, performed in front of a live audience, streamed live online and edited for podcast and over the air radio play. Sexpot Comedy Showcase – Denver Comedy
Oct 2 @ 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Sexpot Comedy Showcase – Denver Comedy

Sponsored by Sexpot Comedy and Sexy Pizza! Come see classic Denver comedy shows revived for your viewing pleasure!

Sexpot Comedy was conceived by Kayvan S.T. Khalatbari in late 2012 at Sexy Pizza’s South Pearl location in Denver, hosting late night, private shows featuring local and national comedic acts. Over the course of 2013, Sexpot Comedy began sponsoring local comedy shows and podcasts, starting with the Fine Gentleman’s Club show Too Much Fun and Matt Monroe’s Propaganda!. Currently Sexpot Comedy sponsors 12 monthly shows and podcasts, as well as a monthly showcase held at the Oriental Theater, which features some of the nation’s best talent alongside Denver’s most creative artists.

“I started this Sexpot Comedy because it was very evident something special was happening in Denver with the comedy scene, which has become nationally recognized over the past decade for developing top level talent and keeping them here in the city.” said Mr. Khalatbari. “My end goal is to show these performers that they don’t need to leave Denver for New York or Los Angeles to get noticed and that if we stick together, we can do something very special here.”

Sexpot Comedy is currently working on spreading these live shows around to different venues in Denver, as well as branching out to other states this year, starting with Denver’s Voodoo Comedy Playhouse. “Steve Wilder, owner of the Voodoo, has welcomed the Denver Comedy scene with open arms since opening his doors a couple years ago and has agreed to allow Sexpot Comedy to host a weekly rotating showcase every Sunday night at 10pm, which will highlight the best of Denver comedy, past and present”. Kayvan is also working with local comedy production champion Andy Juett to create a multimedia platform to promote this scene, which should begin online sometime this summer.
